In Southeast Asia, nature is not just a landscape, it is the protagonist. From sacred mountains to hidden waterfalls or lakes that reflect the sky, each country holds corners that surprise even the most experienced traveler. Here are five places that showcase the natural wealth of the region.
1. Batur Volcano and Lake Batur, Bali
Imposing but calm. The mount Batur is an active volcano located to the northeast of Bali, surrounded by a lake of the same name. The excursions to the dawn are a classic: to see the sun rise from its summit, while the clouds dissipate and the crater smokes, is one of those images that remain engraved forever.

2. Khao Sok National Park, Thailand
Khao Sok is a green jewel of southern Thailand. Its Cheow Lan lake, surrounded by vertical rock formations covered by tropical rainforest, is ideal for sleeping in floating huts, kayaking or simply disconnecting. It is one of the most photogenic and least crowded places in the country.

3. Erawan Waterfalls, Thailand
The Erawan waterfalls, in the province of Kanchanaburi, extend over seven levels. Its turquoise waters, surrounded by jungle, form natural pools where bathing is a purifying experience. Well-marked trails, picnic areas and a wild but accessible environment.

4. Phang Nga Bay, Thailand
North of Phuket, this bay is famous for its limestone rock formations emerging from the water, like natural towers. You can tour it by longtail boat or canoe, visit caves and admire secret beaches. It is also home to the iconic James Bond Island.

5. Kuang Si Waterfall, Laos
Located on the outskirts of Luang Prabang, this waterfall forms terraces of milky blue water that seem unreal. Surrounded by nature and with accessible trails, it is ideal to spend a morning between dips and hiking.
