Today, he opens a window into his world: his passion for his work, his favorite destinations, travel anecdotes... and even his dreams of piloting an A380.

Get ready, because this interview is full of personality, laughter, and lots of travel inspiration.

Define yourself in three words

Determined, creative, and independent.

Where are you from?

I'm from the country with the friendliest people, the most beautiful landscapes, and the craziest nights: Thailand! And, by the way, I'm from Bangkok, so when I talk about crazy nights... believe me, I know what I'm talking about ;P

What is your position at Asian Spirit and what are your responsibilities?

I'm Senior Travel Consultant, and my job is to help plan a “smooth as silk” trip from Thailand to Indochina: Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar. I also work with the Customer Care department to ensure that our travelers enjoy their experience with Asian Spirit to the fullest.

Cath Senior Travel COnsultant Asian Spirit - Entrevista

What is the most common question customers ask, and what is your best short answer?

The question we hear most often is: “Can we receive confirmation and the invoice as soon as possible?” 😀
And my answer is usually: “Today, without fail!”

Consulting your crystal ball, which Thai destination do you think is about to become trendy?

Wow! That's a tough question! In Thailand, I'd say Koh Tao. We've noticed that Generation Z has been super active lately, and they're looking for more than just a simple vacation. They want to have experiences, learn about new cultures, and try different things. Koh Tao has it all: beautiful beaches, diving, snorkeling, delicious local food, hiking trails to spectacular viewpoints... and lots of fun!

If you could give one piece of dining advice to a first-time visitor to Bangkok, what would it be?

Dare to try it! Bangkok is, in my opinion, the food capital of the world. Here you'll find more than just Thai dishes: there's Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, French cuisine... even tapas bars! But be warned: coming to Thailand and not trying the local food is like not having come at all. Believe me, Thai flavors will surprise you: they're colorful, varied, and not everything is hellishly spicy.

If you could swap your job with someone in the tourism industry for a week, what position would you choose and what would you do first?

I would be a pilot! I am passionate about aviation. Just thinking about flying a plane gives me goosebumps. Imagine: I am at the controls of an A380, carrying Thai and foreign passengers from Europe to Bangkok, and when we land, I say, “Welcome home.” Just imagining it makes me excited. 💖

What travel mistake (big or small) has taught you the most about life or travel?

Once I had to take a bus from Granada to Madrid and I arrived at the station running, so I didn't go to the bathroom before getting on. To make matters worse, the bathroom on that bus was locked. I had to beg the driver to give me the key or make a stop... can you imagine how desperate I was! After almost an hour of insisting, he finally gave me the right key. I learned my lesson: always be prepared and arrive early, because the unexpected can happen, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you could only travel for the rest of your life in an unconventional mode of transport (tuk-tuk, sleeper train, hot air balloon, vintage Vespa...), which would you choose and what would be your first destination?

Hahaha, I love that question! I would say a vintage Vespa, and my first destination would be to ride it through the night streets of Ho Chi Minh City. Sounds tempting, right?

Tell us about your product team. If your team had a spirit animal, what would it be and why?

Well... we would be a group of capybaras. They seem calm and serene, but suddenly they do unexpected things, like climbing on top of another animal or walking alongside an alligator. In Thai, we call them “Mah-ma-praw”, which means “coco dog.” They remind me a lot of my team: on the outside we are calm and professional, but in reality we are fun and a little unpredictable.

If you could switch jobs for a day with someone from another department, who would you choose and what chaos would you cause?

Since I'm terrible at math, I would choose to switch with Som, from Accounting. She's a genius at keeping everything in order... but of course, I would probably forget to calculate something important... and that's when chaos would ensue.😀

If you had to choose a teammate to guide you on a tour of your favorite neighborhoods in Bangkok, who would you choose and what would be the must-see stop?

I would choose Nico, from the Product Department. As a foreigner who hasn't been in Bangkok for very long, I'm sure you've discovered secret spots out of pure curiosity, as well as through recommendations from people who have been living here for years. The stop you couldn't miss would be a secret café next to the Chao Phraya River, just four minutes from my house... Ssssssh. It used to be an old soy sauce factory, and now it serves creative drinks made with... soy sauce!

Meet Cath is to discover a vibrant spirit that combines professionalism, creativity, and that touch of fun so characteristic of Bangkok. Their approach to tourism—based on curiosity, enthusiasm, and a constant desire to learn—perfectly reflects the essence of Asian Spirit: authentic, dynamic, and deeply human.

From the product team to the most unexpected anecdotes, his vision reminds us that traveling is much more than moving from one place to another: it is opening yourself up to the world, laughing at small mistakes, and always daring to discover something new.

A key part of the machinery that brings each itinerary to life, and an example of how experience and passion can turn every trip into an unforgettable story.
