Visit to the Mahamuni Buddha statue, one of the most revered in the country, adorned with over a ton of gold plating and precious stones such as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Excursion to Amarapura, the former capital of the Burmese kingdom, where you can observe the daily life of the monks who live and study there, a silk weaving workshop, and the famous U Bein teak bridge over the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, we'll continue to Ava, where we'll take a horse-drawn carriage ride, visiting the 19th-century Okkyaung Monastery and the Bargayar Monastery. Return to Mandalay. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble slabs inscribed with the teachings of Buddha. Finally, enjoy the sunset from Mandalay Hill. Overnight stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DIA 6&nbsp; <\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong>MANDALAY \u2013 MONYWA&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Breakfast at the hotel. Road trip to Monywa, located approximately 120 km west. Visit to the famous Thanbode Temple, home to over 550,000 Buddha images, and Boditahtaung Temple Mountain with its enormous reclining Buddha. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit to the Powintaung Caves (12th-4th centuries), which house over 400,000 Buddhas carved into the cave walls and centuries-old cave paintings. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, transfer by road to Bagan, located 170 km south. Arrival, transfer to the hotel, and overnight stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>DIA 8&nbsp; <\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong>BAGAN&nbsp; (D\/A)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit the local market, the 900-year-old Shwezigon Pagoda, the Htilominlo Temple with its impressive wood carvings, and the teak Nathaukkyaung Monastery built on the riverbank, with its ancient scriptures and Buddha images. Next, we will visit the Ananda Temple, one of the most impressive, dating back to the 11th century. We will also see the Dhamayangyi Pagoda and the 12th-century Sulamani Temple. Following this, we will visit lacquerware workshops, specializing in the local craft. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. To end the day, we will watch the sunset over Bagan.
